Top 15 Halloween Trails

There are lots of pumpkin, scarecrow, Autumn and Halloween trails going over over half term. Most of them are low cost and many raise money to support local charities. Best of all they get us out the house with a little added extra fun.

The Big Bramhall & Cheadle Hulme Pumpkin Trail – spot the pumpkins in and around Cheadle Hulme and Bramhall.  Click here to download your map 

The Heatons Halloween Trail – Over 100 houses signed up to decorate their houses for Halloween in order to raise money for the Savoy Cinema. Visit for more details.

Wanda The Witch Trail – an all outdoor Halloween trail around central Poynton – simply visit the Civic Hall in Poynton to get your trail sheets.  Sheets are £1 with funds going to Vernon Primary School.

BOLLuminations – A 10 night illumination with joyful displays of houses, businesses and landmarks in Bollington.  Running from 4.30-9pm 30th Oct – 8th November. Follow the Facebook page @Bolluminations for further details.

Moorlands Autumn Trail – Your mission should you choose to accept it is to unlock a sarcophagus that has been buried in Priority Gardens for the last 100 years.  Starting at Moorlands Junior School in Sale, follow the clues which will take you on a short walk around Sale Moor and learn lots of interesting facts along the way.  For a copy of the trail email it costs £2.50 to enter.  All proceeds going to Moorlands Junior School in Sale.

Wythenshaw Park Spooky Trail – taking place in the Hall Gardens.  You  can visit the Courtyard  Café for a spooky trail pack, that can be picked up free of charge or you can simply the website  www.wythenshaw and download and print the instructions, clues and a map and a completion certificate. The trail Starts on the 26th October to 31st October.

Chorlton Waterpark – go down to Chortlon Waterpark and discover the spooky trail around the park and lake. Halloween maps can be collected from the Lakeside situated near Chorlton Waterpark car park.  Click here for more details for more details. Friday 30th October 11am – 4pm.

Kids Planet in Sale are inviting everyone to join their pumpkin hunt around Sale town centre.  Simply find a pumpkin and tag “Kids Planet Sale” on Facebook.  They will choose one special post to win a special Halloween treat basket!

Macclesfield Spooky Halloween – simply visit Macclesfied Market Place on Saturday 28th October There will be some life size wandering pumpkins, a pumpkin trail around the Town Centre, a spooky café, a pre carved pumpkin competition and a prize for the best Halloween outfit. The event will raise money for the Mayor’s chosen charities – ROAR (Reach Out and Recover) and Space 4 Autism. For more details visit

Halloween Trail and Ghoulish Gardens, at Stoneyford Cottage in Northwich – Great spooky family fun to be had in Northwich, Cheshire this Halloween, wandering around Ghoulish Gardens and an interactive Halloween trail, where you will be working out clues with your family to help King Arthur & Merlin on their quest of locating the Holy Grail. Pirate Pumpkin Trail, Blakemere Village, Cheshire – Spot the Spooktacular pumpkins on this fun outdoor trail around the Village! Pumpkin Trail at the National Waterways Museum, South Pier Road, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire – Find the pumpkins around the grounds of the National Waterways Museum and help our Witches and Wizards find the ingredients for their magical potion. Monster Invasion, Return of the Monsters in Manchester City Centre – Halloween in the City will be running again this year.  Monsters will be taking to the rooftops of the city centre, be scared very scared! Visitors can spot them at the Arndale, Spinningfields, The Printworks, Selfridges, the Great Northern Warehouse, Moda Angel Gardens and 111 Piccadilly from October 26 to November 1.
