We love a family visit to Stanborough Park even in the winter when the splash park isn’t running.
Spanning 126 acres on the edge of Welwyn Garden City, Stanbourough Park and Lakes features two stunning lakes and lots of wide open green space to explore. We love the fields, duck ponds and woods for a family winter walk in Hertfordshire. There are also two coffee shops at both sides of the park – bonus!
Splashlands – Stanborough Park Welwyn Garden City Splash Pad
On the north side of the park you’ll find Splashlands, a free splash pad (open May to September) and pirate-themed play park.
Stanborough Park Children’s Playground
You’ll find the playground next to the splash pad with a mix of equipment including swings and a great pirate ship.
Stanborough Park High Ropes
Stanborough Park is also home to Vertigo Adventures high ropes (they have low ropes too for younger kids). Open from spring through to October half term, you’ll need a head for heights!
Stanborough Park Watersports
At the Stanborough Park Activity Centre on the South Lake, you can try your hand at Sailing, Kayaking, Canoeing, or Stand-Up Paddleboarding. Open weekends, Bank Holidays & schools holidays, April to September
Pay and Display Car Parks available on both sides of the park.
