I’m often surprised by just how many wonderful outdoor spaces Bracknell has to offer and Savernake Park is no exception. A 6.5 hectare free public open space consisting of a central pond, two wooden play areas situated in woodland with some wooden sculptures.
The paths are paved so it’s ideal for buggies and wheelchair access as well as bringing along scooters and bikes. Its also perfect if you want to avoid a muddy walk.
The pond is the first thing you spot when leaving the car park. There is seating around the pond with many fish and ducks to spot and feed.
About half way round the pond we found the play parks. Two separates ones – one more aimed at toddlers/early years and the other for slightly older children. These are wooden and beautifully constructed.
As well as offering the normal swings and slides, they also have various obstacle style apparatus which my boys loved climbing and seeing how fast they could complete it without touching the ground.
We were also pleased to see a lovely large grassed area next to the play parks which my eldest loved kicking a ball around. It made us think of the warmer months ahead and picnics!
One thing not to be missed is the coffee van, AL Crepes & Cafe, However this isn’t a normal coffee van, it sells the most amazing crepes which you can order online and then collect at the end of your walk

Savernake Park Parking & Toilets
If you plan to drive, the car park is free but small. The park is situated among residential roads so parking sensibly on one of these could be an alternative option.
There no toilet facilities here unfortunately but there are a couple of supermarkets close by with public toilets.
