Forest Park Preparatory School – 26th April – Year 5 came across the opportunity to put questions to astronaut, Samantha Cristoforetti, in First News. She is currently in training to visit the International Space Station next year. We just received the issue and they were lucky enough to have their questions included!
The Queen’s School Chester – 26th April – Year One have been exploring the school gardens in their Science lessons, naming and identifying flowering plants. They looked in greater detail using magnifying glasses and created drawings in their sketchbooks.
The King’s School Chester – 24th April – Congratulations to our wonderful A-Level Drama student Sameer Dhanjee who has just found out he has been cast in the National Youth Music Theatre production of ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’. Well done Sameer. We are so proud of you!
Abbey Gate College – 23rd April – We are immensely proud of GCSE Drama and Music pupil, Hayden Collins who has been selected to participate in this year’s British Youth Music Theatre production and workshops.
Alderley Edge School for Girls – 23rd April – Today our pupils enjoyed their first @DofE expedition since the lockdown in March 2020 and since HRH Duke of Edinburgh passed away. The smiles on their faces are testimony to this incredible initiative and we hope to continue providing girls with experiences as such in his legacy
Bowdon Preparatory School for Girls – 23rd April – Congratulations to Lottie for receiving Mrs Gee’s Y3/4 Headteacher Award this afternoon.
The Firs School – 23rd April – What a beautiful representation of our Firs Family Back together again. Thanks to Miss Bettany, our wonderful Art coordinator for the inspiration! Whilst each feather, one made by every child in the school is beautiful on it’s own, together their impact becomes remarkable!
Lady Barn House School – 23rd April – Book Bingo! Over the holiday, we set the lower juniors a book bingo challenge to encourage each child to get their books out and enjoy some quality reading time. They all had to try and fill as many of the squares as possible and they will receive dojos for each challenge they fulfilled. We asked them to read in all sorts of different places, to a variety of people and wearing different things! A few examples were: read in your pyjamas, read whilst eating breakfast, read on a Saturday, read to a group of people, read whilst wearing a hat, read to an animal or cuddly toy or listen to someone reading to you! The children have all done so well and some even sent in photographs of them reading. It’s wonderful to see the enjoyment the children get from getting their nose stuck in a book and I’m sure I don’t need to remind you all about the benefits a child gains from regular reading! So – keep sharing stories; cuddle up and read to each other as often as you can – and if your child fancies reading in the bath, wearing mittens, or up a tree, then, why not!! Loreto Preparatory School – 23rd April – This morning our Eco-Warriors led us in a whole school assembly. The girls delivered an online assembly to the school following the CAFOD ‘Eyes of the world are on us’ campaign as Britain hosts world leaders for the COP26 climate change talks. Fantastic girls!!!
Pownall Hall School – 23rd April – Everyday at Pownall, our children make memories that will last with them a lifetime All of our children enjoyed an extended morning break time today to make the most of the glorious sunshine Our Nursery children enjoyed a kickabout with Mr Goulbourn
Stockport Grammar School – 23rd April – After trying a range of different musical instruments – including trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, flute, cello & double bass – earlier in the year, First Year pupils have now chosen one of those instruments which they will learn in more depth this term.
St Ambrose Preparatory School – 23rd April – The Early Years made the most of the sunshine today! Did you know our nursery takes children from their third birthday? We offer up to 30 hours funding.
The Grange School – 23rd April – Our Reception children had a visit from Little Barn Mobile Farm today and got to meet the lambs, as well as a chicken, rabbit, guinea pig, goat and a calf. Such a treat for a sunny Friday afternoon!
The King’s School (Macclesfield) – 23rd April – Yr 13 made a giant graph to plot character trajectories in King Lear this week. It was a delight to see them collaborating and debating!
The Ryleys – 23rd April -It’s been lovely to be back outdoors in our Outdoor Learning provision and the children have already immersed themselves into several new projects. Year 6 have been looking at the annual Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival as part of their Global Perspectives topic. The festival has been observed in Japan for 1,200 years and it celebrates the arrival of spring. Year 6 created their own artwork using natural resources found in the outdoor learning area. Meanwhile, Year 5 have been learning all about Peruvian style designs with repeating patterns in a geometric style. These repeating patterns are often found in rows or squares, as part of fabric designs. However, the children created their carpets with natural supplies from the woodland.

Forest Preparatory School – 22nd April – Reception have been exploring money through sorting coins and making brass rubbing patterns. One super Forester was very inspired and set up her own music shop with real coins- move over @Lord_Sugar
Hulme Hall Grammar School – 22nd April – Year 11 have had a fascinating lesson in science today as they designed an experiment to determine the affect of temperature on the rate of enzyme action.
Terra Nova – 22nd April – Year 4 have also been exploring Forest School for Earth Day
Wilmslow Preparatory School – 22nd April – Yesterday, we had a visitor that caused lots of excitement… Mrs Broome brought Gertie the piglet into school to meet the children and staff, and everyone loved meeting her!
Yorston Lodge School – 22nd April – Today, to celebrate Earth Day all of our pupils took part in an initiative, created by Siemens and the National Literacy Trust. We received a donation of books on climate change and learnt more about literacy skills, STEM and recycling, whilst taking part in a virtual author reading.
Brabyns Preparatory School – 21st April – Our budding EYFS and Infant dancers have enjoyed their first Ballet club of the Summer Term this afternoon.
