Kings London has two campuses; 25 Beckenham Road is the main academic and administrative campus, providing GCSE, A-Level, Extended Project Qualifications (EPQ), Art & Design and International Foundation courses.
English Language programmes for international students are provided at 2 Beckenham Road, adjacent to the main academic and administrative campus.
Kings is a fully co-educational independent school for students from the age of 15, providing Form 5 and Sixth Form for Day and Boarding students. The college has a highly personalised approach to learning, student welfare and pastoral development. Teachers have excellent subject knowledge and clearly understand the requirements of the courses they are teaching. This gives students confidence and helps them to gain new knowledge and skills well. The activities in lessons are interesting and well planned to help students make good progress academically. Skilful use of ICT, including interactive whiteboards and Kings Virtual Learning Environment ensure lessons are engaging and support students’ learning and development. Teaching is conducted in small classes, with an average of 7 and no more than 10 students per class. The relationship between teachers and students is one of mutual respect, in a mature environment in which first names are used and without uniforms, ringing bells and school assemblies. Learning is gained through exploration and questioning of subject areas to gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the course content. Students also develop transferable skills which they can apply to new concepts, problem solving and for their further studies.
Examination structure and marking criteria are explored to ensure students fully understand what examiners are looking for and how marks are allocated. Examination and revision strategies are integrated in to the learning and personal strategies are developed to ensure students maximise their performance and results achieved.
Students benefit greatly from the wide range of extension and enrichment activities. The curriculum is greatly enhanced by trips and visits to places of interest and the college fully exploits the opportunities and resources afforded by its location. For example, students aiming for design related careers regular visit museums and galleries as part of their wider studies and to provide inspiration for their own creative practice. Other examples include visits to universities, the Supreme Court, and recreational visits to places of interest, such as Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre on the Southbank.
The school has an extensive, 7 day a week, Monthly Activities Calendar which offers a wide range of activities clubs and societies, including photography, theatre, debating, and sports and fitness, encourages students to be active, provides opportunities for exploration and development and can add to their important UCAS Personal Statements and applications.
All Kings students are supported by a Personal Tutor. Their role is to oversee all aspects of students learning, development and welfare. Subject and Course Heads and specialist UCAS advisors provide further advice, support and guidance, working to ensure students achieve their full potential and take full advantage of the opportunities available to them within the college, the local community and in their progression to leading universities.

Boarding students
Kings provide a range of options for students who wish to board. Facilities include student residences, student houses and homestay options. The school’s residences provide high-quality single and twin en-suite rooms, with communal areas, laundry facilities, free wifi throughout with self-catering, half and full-board options. The school also has a network of carefully selected local host families.
