The secret beach in Surrey which you may not know existed.
Situated between Farnham and Hindhead on either side of the A287 is the green flag award-winning site of Frensham Great Pond. The man-made beach stretches along a 13th century lake giving ample opportunity to sunbathe and swim in warm weather.
Beautiful sand to relax on with a gorgeous view of the lake, it’s the perfect replace to unwind and if you need to cool off the lake is the perfect place. If you fancy some shade then there are numerous trees around the lake which can provide you with shelter.
At the lake there are shallow areas for little ones to sit and paddle or for the more adventurous you can go for a swim.
If you fancy stretching your legs then Frensham Little Pond is a picturesque place for a paddle and a pond dip, surrounded by the beautiful Frensham Commons. The woodland trails and bridle paths around the pond and common provide plenty of opportunity to enjoy nature!
Spot rare birds and other small wildlife around the pond, make dens with the fallen branches or go pond dipping. Dogs are welcome along the designated dog route surrounding the beach area, but not on the beach itself or in the water. The pond gets very busy in the summer months so get there early to make the most of this amazing outdoor space!
The cafe is located next to the pond and only a short walk from the car park. It offers snacks, drinks and ice creams and has picnic tables, some under cover.
This is a perfect spot if you fancy escaping the hustle and bustle of city town life, but don’t fancy the long trip down to the beach. This is right on our doorstep and like our own private beach. What more could you ask for, golden sand, a lake to paddle and swim in, refreshments and nature walks.
