Freeland Pre-school is situated in the grounds of Freeland CE Primary school. Welcoming children aged 2 – 5 years, the pre-school works in close partnership with the school; following the same curriculum, which aims to provide a seamless transition for the children into the Foundation Stage class.
One of the biggest assets is the dedicated team of Early Years Practitioners who are caring and welcoming. They take the time to get to know not only your child, but the whole family – building up a close relationship. With an understanding that parents are a child’s main educator they will work closely with you to ensure that your child reaches their full potential.
Children are active learners who learn through play. Freeland Pre-school believe that children learn in the ‘here and now’. Using the Early Years Foundation Stage, learning moments are extended with fun and stimulating opportunities.
Freeland Pre-school believe that outdoor play encourages skills such as problem solving and negotiating risk, which are important for child development. For this reason, much of the play and activities centres around the large garden and outdoor area. These high-quality learning experiences take place no matter what the weather.

Outdoor Explorers at Freeland Pre-school
Based on the Forest School ethos, children explore and experience the natural world on a regular and continued basis during regular Outdoor Explorer sessions in local woods The aim is to offer a unique way of building self-esteem and confidence in addition to learning new life skills and promoting independence, through hands on learning experiences.

Early Bird: 8.45am-9.15am
Morning: 9.15am-12.15pm
Afternoon’s 12:15pm-3:15pm
15 hours and 30 hours funding available
Joining Freeland Pre-School
