Welford Park near Newbury will be opening the gates again this autumn for a magical after-dark experience for all the family from 17th October to 9th November 2025 on select evenings.

​Spectacle of Light offers you the chance to view the much loved paths of Welford Park from a different perspective and discover new sights along the way.

Enjoy this beautiful, illuminated trail through the majestic woodland and around the gardens all lit under the stars.​

Sip delicious hot chocolate and spiced cider as you meander along this beautiful trail. Take a moment by the house to tuck into scrumptious hot food.

Welford Park Spectacle of Light 2025 Review

As we walked round he declared it ‘the best light trail ever’ and I have to agree with him that this is a pretty special event.

There have been some changes to the event this year, with a new layout, but the same vibe we loved last year – stunning light installations set to atmospheric music with light-up structures to walk through, lantern strewn lawns and beautiful projections throughout.

The walk took us about an hour and a half in total.

 As you make your way around the light trail there are lots of treats to enjoy along the way. We loved the marshmallow toasting pits and the food stands about half way round have a great range of options. Both me and my son remembered the amazing brownies and ice cream from last year and it was just as good this year too!

Visiting the Spectacle of Light is such a treat. It’s a stroke of genius to hold this event before the Christmas busy season and it also means you can enjoy a beautiful evening amongst the lights as the darker nights draw in.
