Victoria Day in Aldershot
8 June @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Victoria Day is back on Saturday 8 June from 10am to 4pm in Aldershot town centre. This year’s theme is ‘carnival of the animals’ and we’ll be having a roar-some day!
The carnival
This year, the carnival will be larger and more colourful than ever before. The spectacular ‘Carnival of the Animals’ leaves Princes Hall at 11am and ends at the Naafi roundabout at around midday.
Over 800 people take part in the parade each year, including Aldershot’s own Queen Victoria, Betty Bryce.
What’s on
Visit Union Street, Wellington Street and Princes Gardens between 10am and 4pm for lots of free activities, fantastic craft and community stalls, fair rides, live entertainment and delicious food and drink.
Head to Princes Gardens for live entertainment on the bandstand throughout the day, animal themed make-and-take crafts, silly street theatre, a quiet storytelling area, fair rides and much more. Plus, don’t miss our circus skills area and aerial performers alongside Princes Gardens Surgery and a small classic car display in Princes Way from 12.30pm.
Over on Union Street, there’s wild stilt walkers, giant animals performers, the Bubble Man, face painters, Lego building and lots more live music and dance. There’s even the chance to meet Captain John Voyage on his tropical tricycle, and his banana smuggling Orangutan puppet, Mr Business!
