As the days are dimming, Basildon Park is turning up the colour and light. This October half-term, visitors can experience the glamour of Basildon Park as it is illuminated by light and colour.

The Festival of Light and Colour returns from 14th to 31st October and will see the house aglow with twinkling lights and adorned with colourful decorations.  A great alternative to spooky Halloween outings for October half term activities in Berkshire.

Find rooms illuminated by colourful lanterns, diyas, tealights, torans and projections. The children’s trail and activity in the house both explore celebrations of light and colour as we head into autumn. Children can create their very own vibrant rangoli bookmark and can take part in a house trail which explores the traditions of celebrating light amidst darkness.

On Saturday 14 October, a local artist will create a rangoli in the garden room within our India & Me exhibition, which will remain on display throughout the festival. Get inspired for Diwali celebrations later this year, and return on 11 to 12 of November to see a new celebratory rangoli display.
