Cosmic Adventures – A Summer of Intergalactic Fun at Discover Bucks Museum

This summer holiday, blast off into a world of space, science, and sci-fi fun for the whole family at Discover Bucks Museum

Enjoy themed crafts every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, explore the incredible Beyond the Stars exhibition, Space Descent VR – narrated by Tim Peake and the much-loved Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery every day. Relax in our space-themed sensory room, enjoy garden games in our beautiful Victorian garden, and refuel with light snacks from the café.

On Every Day at Discover Bucks Museum

⭐ Beyond the Stars Exhibition – discover Sci-Fi props and models from classic British TV shows.

⭐ Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery – step into a world of imagination, where hands-on exhibits bring Dahl’s beloved stories to life.

⭐ Space Descent VR – narrated by Tim Peake (see more below)

⭐ Main Museum – explore the family friendly museum telling the story of the people and landscapes of Buckinghamshire, from 200 million years ago to today.

⭐ Cosmic Adventures trail (included in your Museum and/or Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery ticket)

Space Descent VR
Join astronaut Tim Peake in a thrilling high-speed spaceflight with a new virtual reality experience from the Science Museum Group – available every day of the summer holidays!

Themed Crafts on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
3 times a week over the summer holidays Discover Bucks will have a fantastic selection of Space, Science and sci-fi themed crafts & activities for all the family to enjoy.

Space Science
Friday 25 July, Monday 28 July & Monday 18 August

Join us for space-themed science experiments, including making your own stomp-rockets!

£7.50 per child+1 free adult. £3 for each additional adult

Timings: 10.15am-11.15am, 12pm – 1pm and 2pm – 3pm

Suitable for ages 5-11

Fairytale Frocks & Fabulous Frogs
Saturday 26 July

Join James Mayhew and Toto Martinez for this dazzling interactive session inspired by their best-selling picture-books. Discover a world of mixed up fairytales, and wonderful live illustration. You can even help Toto design the best pantomime dame costume ever!

£4 per participant.

Timings: 10.30am – 11.30am

A Symphony of stories
Saturday 26 July

Did you know that music can tell stories? Join James Mayhew for a wonderful event full of stories, music, and live illustration. Be swept away by tales of sunken cities and miraculous firebirds in this unforgettable introduction to classical music.

£4 per participant.

Become a Superhero
Wednesday 30 July & Wednesday 13 August

Become a superhero by decorating your own superhero cape and mask.
