The boys and I were lucky enough to go and see Winnie the Pooh on stage at Wycombe Swan Theatre.
We had such a lovely evening, the showing was at 5pm so not too late for the boys. The running time was 62 minutes without an interval and it was the perfect length of time for the kiddos.
Parker definitely struggled to sit still after the first half an hour but he really enjoyed seeing some of his favourite characters on stage and kept waving at them. He’s still in nursery so I think he did really well.
Freddie is now a firm theatre fan and I will definitely be looking to take him to more shows. In Freddie’s words when we sat down “Wow these chairs are so comfortable”. He loved the seats, the stage, the show, clapping at the end. Everything about it!
The show was such a lovely tale of Pooh searching for honey throughout the seasons, it had humour for the grownups and a wonderful story for the kids to follow. It was cleverly done and Freddie is still amazed by the large puppets they used to act out the show.
The theatre and showing was so family friendly, the staff were so kind to the children and they gave them a sticker on our way in. There was baby changing, booster seats (although we were sat on an incline so the boys view was perfect without a booster), a cafe, ice cream and a stall selling lovely Pooh goodies!
I was nervous about taking the two alone, and Parker was definitely not still and silent all the way through but everyone in there were young families and it was a really fun, kind atmosphere so I’m so glad we went!
There are so many family friendly shows coming up at Wycombe Swan, I would definitely recommend checkout out what’s on!
