We took a trip to the Climbing Hut in Ellesmere Port and absolutely loved exploring all it had to offer. The indoor bouldering centre has something for all ages from Bouldering Walls with a wide range of graded climbs to challenge all abilities to the Boulder Zoo and Boulder Play areas, more suitable for younger kids.
We parked up in the large car park and went into to be greeted at reception. There is a lovely little cafe on entry serving cakes, snacks and greta coffee!
For children – you would need to visit at the weekend. They have 3 areas of child friendly bouldering to suits varying ages and capability. If your child is older than 11 or shows great confidence then they have lots of areas to explore and develop as their confidence builds.
We spent all of our time in the bouldering play area and bouldering zoo. The first area, boulder play is suitable for under 5’s, it has mats and a small bouldering wall which is contained. The bouldering zoo suitable from 2-11 years old has a great climbing wall and a slide which was definitely the most popular.
Our little girl loved going up the climbing wall to the top of the slide and whizzing down. The mats on the floor were fab to allow our baby to have a little kick around. I think this venue would be brilliant if you are a parent with multiple children as the walls for different ages are all quite close to each other so it would be relatively simple to supervise!
