There’s something about a stunning view that really adds to a family walk. Chinnor Hill in Oxfordshire has a magnificant view stretching right out over the Aylesbury Vale.
If you’ve got little ones that aren’t up for a big hike, don’t worry. There’s a small free car park at the end of Hill Top Road and then it’s just a short 5 minute walk along a woodland pathway before it’s suddenly opens out at you’re at the top of the hill.
Rest up on a wooden bench, bring a picnic or go off exploring. The walk from the car park to the hill top would be possible with a pushchair as long as it’s not been raining.
There’s also a 1 mile wildlife walk which is great to explore and we found a wonderful tree to climb. It’s steep in place and the ground can be uneven so best on foot only.
The chalk grasslands are perfect for wildflowers and you’ll see lots here in spring and summer.
